South Perk Coffee Cafe ( a member of UBAM) is located west of Midway Airport area - opened March 03, 2005 on a premise to serve as an establishment that provides an opportunity for social interaction for visitors of all ages while offering a wide variety of beverages like hot coffee drinks, chocolate, teas, smoothies, ice cream and some sandwiches and salads. Some of our younger fans refer to South Perk as a smoothie shop however this is a coffee cafe that added smoothies and ice cream to accomodate the demands of all generations. There has always been more variety at South Perk Coffee Cafe in comparison to other coffee chains. To start with we offer over 30 Monin syrup flavors to customize any drink. We use top of the line quality products like Monin and Ghirardelli and still maintain a level of affordability for the average income in this fine neighborhood. Also, we offer smoothies, breakfast, lunch and dinner sandwiches, salads.

Since we opened we have expanded our product offerings with coffee beans by the pound or half pound, Bija Healing Teas by Flora Health - which are exceptional, FREE wireless internet, Petersen's world famous ice cream, added gift cards, have a myspace site and a new web page that you are viewing now, just started deliveries and about to go live with the world with GOMOBO! We have had an exciting year with the expansions we have made and we're still open. We have met fine neighbors, customers, especially business owners who offer great products and services along 63rd street. They have all been supportive and inspirational. We shall forever appreciate the patronage we have received and hope that in the days to follow our customers will reciprocate any feedback in person or through our webpage. We are not here to just make a buck because we're not but we are trying to make a difference in what we do.
Our Mission is to create employment opportunities for teenagers and folks in the community within walking distance and to have a positive impact as well by offering support to schools and organizations with our "Beans for Beans" program.
Our decor is that of a coastal theme which many comment and say it has a calming effect. Our logo which is featured on all the site pages is a lighthouse transformed into a coffee pot. Thank you to the creative expertise of an Associate Creative Director by the name of Gabe Usadel who works for a company that specializes in brand identity. Many, many, many thanks to Gabe for his excellent work, for educating me about brandt identity and for treating South Perk Coffee Cafe like one of his high profile corporate accounts. His work inspired our vision. When we met he shared with us that his passion is helping out the little guy...and I thought "well look no further."
One last thing about our logo - the Lighthouse. A lighthouse is a tower or structure that displays a flashing powerful light or beacon to help guide ships off shore so that they can avoid dangerous areas like rocks during their voyage. Mr. Usadel's work supports our theme in that South Perk Coffee Cafe offers an opportunity for folks of all ages to interact, meet friends or play checkers. It is a location that welcomes visitors and provides shelter off the streets which at times can be rocky.
